Prohibition

If you love US History, today is an important day. If you love US history AND alcohol, today is a VERY important day.

On this date in 1933, Prohibition was repealed with the ratification of the 21st Amendment. (21? Legal drinking age? Go figure!)

Drinking became legal and bathtubs were once again used for bathing instead of a vat for moonshine concocting.

Here’s to 80 years of legal debauchery!

It’s not surprising that popular nightclubs, dive bars and breweries across the US are having special events to celebrate our American right to dance with a lampshade on our heads.

If you plan on carousing at a make-believe speakeasy, be sure to have a designated driver or call a cab. It’s always a good idea to keep the number of a cab company in your phone, so you’re not scrambling to find a number while you’re in double-vision mode.

Also, check out our BAC calculator to see how much you can drink and still safely drive!

Finally, if your fete gets out of hand and you decide to drive after having some “giggle water” it’s extremely important to hire an experienced DUI attorney to assist you with the legal process and fight your charges. After all, if Al Capone can have an attorney, you deserve one as well!
